For our first international survey, we asked nearly 2,850 adolescents in the United States, Brazil, and France about their use and perceptions of AI chatbots for learning, creativity, advice, and social connection.
Our findings show that AI chatbots have become a meaningful part of many teens’ daily lives, but that adoption, attitudes, and use patterns vary considerably by country, gender, and frequency of use.
Some of the most striking differences showed up between daily and less frequent users, as well as between US boys and girls, raising important questions about what constitutes safe and healthy engagement for adolescent users of AI.

At the Digital Wellness Lab, we know that healthy tech habits start with open conversations at home. To make that easier, our research team is hitting the road at Verizon Wireless stores nationwide to facilitate research-informed hands-on workshops designed to help families navigate the digital world together with confidence and balance.
On May 16, you will find us in Miami, and we have 7 more stops planned through the end of the summer. Whether you’re looking for tips on screen time, social media, or just want to build a media use plan that actually works, these workshops are a perfect (and free!) resource.
Don’t miss out! We encourage families to sign up, join the fun, and walk away with actionable tools for a healthier digital life. Check out the schedule and register for a workshop near you:
